The facelifted version of the Volkswagen Sharan has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, in a premiere.
After it has been shown online just last month, the 2016 Volkswagen Sharan is finally here as it has been introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The model in question is a facelift which has received some new metallic body paints, new LED headlights, Jakarta alloy wheels and so on. The cabin is getting the updated 5-inch Composition Color, the 6.5-inch Composition Media and the 6.5-inch Discovery Media infotainment systems, along with the MirrorLink, which is allowing the driver to copy his smartphone display on the vehicle’s touch screen.
Some of the safety features found on the model include the Automatic Post Collision Braking System, the Blind Spot Monitor, the Park Assist, the Lane Assist and the Adaptive Cruise Control. The 2016 Volkswagen Sharan facelift is now getting an engine lineup which is fully Euro 6 compliant. This is made out of the 1.4 liter TSI unit with its 150 HP, the 2.0 TSI producing 220 HP, the 1.6 TDI with its 115 HP, the 2.0 TDI rated at 150 HP and the 2.0 TDI with its 184 HP. Volkswagen says that these units are connected in standard to a 6-speed manual transmission while the 6-speed DSG is available as an option. More details on the model, including its price list, are limited at this time but order books should begin in April and the first deliveries should take place this summer.
