The Japanese based automaker Honda has recently announced its plans to introduce the new 2015 Civic Type R, which should be launched sometimes next year.
With Volkswagen unveiling the new Golf GTI generation and Kia pulling the wraps off its first hot hatch attempt for the C-segment, the Pro_Cee’d GT, Honda couldn’t stay aside and the carmaker has recently announced its plans to introduce a new generation of the Civic Type R. According to the car manufacturer, the brand new Honda Civic Type R will wear the 2015 model year in its name which means that the vehicle will go on sale in 2014.
Honda says that the upcoming 2015 Civic Type R will use some technologies adapted from the WTCC Civic model, but didn’t announce what exactly. The brand new 2015 Honda Civic Type R will use either a 1.6 liter or a 2.0 liter engine which, according to the guys at Auto Express, who have recently spoken with the company’s UK Managing Director Dave Hodgetts, will produce at least 265 BHP (198 kW), but an output of 300 BHP (224 kW) isn’t excluded either. The new Honda hot hatch will begin its Nurburgring tests later on this year.
