Our spy photographers have managed to capture the brand new Honda Civic Type R, with no camouflage on its body, while it was being tested out on the Nurburgring.
The “Green Hell” is where all carmakers come to test out their brand new models and Honda couldn’t have missed out on the “opportunity” when it comes to the next Civic Type R. The model in question wants to steal the crown from the Seat Leon Cupra and the new Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy when it comes to the fastest front-wheel drive car on the Nurburgring, but before that, the hot hatch is currently being tweaked.
Following the footsteps of the concept car unveiled earlier this year, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the new Honda Civic Type R has an aggressive body kit, with new front and rear bumpers, aerodynamic side skirts, a prominent rear wing, a rear diffuser, extended side skirts, a four tailpipe exhaust system and golden alloy wheels. Power will come from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which will produce a total output of “at least” 280 HP. Rumors are saying that it can even provide as much as 320 HP.
