The new generation of the 2015 Land Rover Freelander has been recently caught on camera by our spy photographers while it was being tested in Germany.
The model in question has been completely redesigned and it’s significantly larger than the vehicle it’s replacing. The new Land Rover Freelander generation will ride on the same platform which will underpin the five-door Range Rover Evoque and, as you can see from the images posted below, it has been heavily influenced by the Evoque and also by the new Range Rover Sport generation. There is a sloping roofline, a dual exhaust system and a tailgate mounted spoiler to highlight its sporty profile.
As far as the engine lineup goes, rumors are saying that the units can be carried over from the Evoque. This basically means that we will see a 150 HP 2.2 liter diesel engine, a 190 HP 2.2 liter diesel engine and a 240 HP 2.0 liter petrol burner. Additional details on the new Land Rover Freelander generation are limited for the moment and will probably be announced during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in March, when the model is believed to make its public debut.
