One of the most popular roadsters out there is definitely the Mazda MX-5 and in between its new special editions, the company’s fans looked forward into the development of the new generation which isn’t that far away. The Japanese based automaker has officially announced the unveil of the new generation Mazda MX-5 for the 4th of September. The model in question will be simultaneously unveiled in Japan, in Europe and in the United States.
“Mazda has announced that the fourth generation Mazda MX-5 will be unveiled simultaneously in three different global locations – Japan, USA and Europe – on September 4, 2014. To coincide with the unveiling, Mazda Motor Corporation will hold the Mazda Roadster Thanks Day in Japan at Maihama Amphitheater in Urayasu city, Chiba”, said the company in its official press release.
The 2015 Mazda MX-5 is said to be at least 100 kg lighter than the outgoing version and it should also get some increased body rigidity, which should make it safer in the case of a crash, along with a lower center of gravity, to make it more agile on the corners. The vehicle will also be more powerful but more details on the subject remain unknown for the moment.
