The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS has been officially unveiled by the German based automaker, as the model is now coming with the Multibeam LED headlights.
The updated version of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, wearing the 2015 model year in its name, is basically a facelift, which has received some interesting tweaks, such as the Multibeam LED headlights, which have received 24 individually controlled LEDs. These can be adjusted 100 times per second by the four control units and the camera and the technology is capable of detecting uncoming vehicles and adjust the light beam so it will not affect other drivers.
Besides the Multibeam LED headlights, we can also notice the front bumper of the refreshed CLS lineup, which is now getting larger air ducts, a darker tint on the taillights, a diamond pattern on the front grille, an updated 3-spoke steering wheel, a free standing 8-inch color display and some other tweaks which should help the model stand out from a crowd quite easily.
As far as the engine lineup goes, we can see the CLS 220 BlueTEC, with its 2.1L four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, producing 170 HP (125 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). On the CLS 250 BlueTEC we have the same engine, coming with 204 HP (150 kW) and 500 Nm (369 Nm). The CLS 350 BlueTEC is powered by a 258 HP (190 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque 3.0L V6 diesel.
The CLS 400 is replacing the CLS 350 CGI and it is coming with a 3.5L bi turbo unit, generating 333 HP (245 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque, while the CLS 500 is getting 408 HP (300 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The top o the line AMG model is getting a 5.5 liter V8 engine, with 557 HP and 720 Nm of torque or with 585 HP and 800 Nm of torque in the S version. The 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission is available as an option for the CLS 220 BlueTEC, CLS 250 BlueTEC or CLS 500.
