Mercedes-Benz has released new teaser images and details on the upcoming 2015 CLS and its more practical brother, the 2015 CLS Shooting Brake.
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS has been already spied, numerous times until now, so its development is no longer a surprise, for quite some time. But if you hear the 2015 model year in its name you shouldn’t be that happy because this is a simple facelift, or more like a complex facelift, but you get the picture. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS will be coming with Multibeam LED headlights which have 24 individually controlled LEDs which adjust 100 times every second from the four control units and the camera.
“With Multibeam LED technology the headlamps now are able to react even more quickly, more precisely and individually to changing traffic conditions. On top of this, there are expanded functions of which a driver will become directly aware, such as anticipatory camera-based curve recognition with the active light function. With such features Mercedes-Benz once again is demonstrating its role as an innovation leader in the automobile industry”, said Thomas Weber, the Research and Development boss from Mercedes.
The car manufacturer says that the Multibeam headlights, added to the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS, are able to detect oncoming traffic and vehicles in front of it and adjust the light beam to make sure that other drivers will not be dazzled by the lights. The system can also detect upcoming bends and it is using the navigation to detect upcoming roundabouts. Rumors are saying that the updated CLS will be officially unveiled this October, during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
