This is the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK. It will replace the current model that is on sales from the autumn of 2008 ( yes at this moment Mercedes sells the facelifted model ).
As expected the upcoming GLK will be slightly larger compared to the actual model as the Germans must make some room for the smaller 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA. Also as you can see from these images, the hood has been stretched and the front axle pushed forward to accommodate the longer wheelbase.
Therefore we expect more space inside and most probably the car will compete much better with rivals like the Audi Q5 or the X3 from BMW in terms of space and comfort.
Also, as we can see the proportions of the little SUV appear much sportier than those of the current GLK and the roof more steeply sloped towards the rear.
Regarding what will power the 2015 GLK, most probably it will share most of the mechanical components with the upcoming C-Class sedan – so expect the base engine to be a new four-cylinder turbocharged 1.8-litre (GLK 250). For the moment is not clear if Mercedes will offer an AMG variant.
Sales will start at the end of 2014 – but some say the new GLK will hit the market only in 2015.
