Ford is planning to introduce the new-gen 2015 Mustang with an EcoBoost engine in the United States too, where the model should be similar to the one which will be launched in Europe.
After a rumor has appeared just a few days ago, which was saying that Ford will launch the future generation of the Mustang with an EcoBoost engine in Europe, another rumor is now saying that the muscle car will get the same treatment in the United States too. Ford playing with small engines on muscle cars is like walking on thin ice because the main reason you buy such a vehicle in the first place is that large V8 engine.
The 2015 Ford Mustang will receive a 2.3 liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine in the United States, the same one which will be available on the muscle car in Europe. This is expected to be a modified version of the 2.0 liter unit found on the Ford Focus ST, which is estimated to develop a total output of approximately 300 HP (220 kW), which is more than the 250 HP (184 kW) produced in the hot hatch. The V8 version will not be dropped and it will be sold in both markets.
