The impressive 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 North American International Auto Show, in Detroit.
Besides the new the German based automaker has also pulled he wraps off the Cayenne Turbo S, during the same automotive event. The top of the line model is getting the PTM (Porsche Traction Management) system permanently driving the rear wheels but it is also offering the full variable power distribution between the front axle and the rear one. Stopping power is provided by the 420 mm and 370 mm brake discs, front to rear, with ten- and four-piston calipers.
The PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, and the PTV Plus (Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus) systems are now equipping the model, along with the LED headlights, the high gloss radiator grille, the wheel arch moldings in body color, the roof spoiler, sports exhaust system, full leather interior, new interior styling in the black crème color and several other features which should put some space between it, the standard model and its predecessor.
The 0216 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has a 4.8 liter V8 biturbo engine under its hood, which has been modified and it is now capable of providing 570 HP (419 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, meaning 20 HP (15 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque more than before. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the model needs 4.1 seconds and it can go all the way up to 284 km/h (176 mph). The new Cayenne Turbo S has managed to lap the Ring in 7:59.74 and it will go on sale in Germany from 166,696 euros.
