The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 North American International Auto Show.
Besides the introduction of the the North American based automaker has also pulled the wraps off the brand new 2017 F-150 Raptor, during the same automotive event. The model in question has a prominent mesh grille, LED headlights, a rugged front bumper, ventilated front fenders, silver skid plate, unique tailgate, exclusive dual exhaust system, 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires and several other goodies. The cabin has been carried over but it has the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and the auxiliary control panel.
The new Terrain Management System is also found on the new F-150 Raptor which is offering several modes such as the Normal, Street, Weather (Rain, Snow and Ice), Mud / Sand, Baja and Rock. The optional Torsen front differential can also be added to the model if this doesn’t seem enough for you. Despite using more high strength steel than its predecessor, the vehicle is weighing 227 kg less thanks to the use of aluminum.
Under its hood we can find the 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine which will produce more than the 411 HP (306 kW) And 587 Nm (434 lb-ft) of torque of the current 6.2 liter V8, but the company is currently keeping these specifications into the shadow. Power will be sent to the new four-wheel drive system with a torque-on-demand transfer case through a brand new 10-speed automatic transmission. The model will go on sale in the fall of 2016. Pricing will be announced close to that date.
