The North American based automaker has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE, during the Detroit Motor Show.
The 2015th edition of the North American International Auto Show continues as the newest creation signed by Ram is being introduced, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE. The model in question has been designed in order to deliver the class-leading fuel efficiency, which is something that European and Asian automakers have been doing for a lot of time now.
“Fuel efficiency is at the top of truck buyers’ priorities and Ram is the recognized benchmark for the industry. Twenty-nine miles per gallon cuts through the clutter. Ram invested in powertrain technologies and those are paying real dividends in the wallets of our customers”, said Bob Hegbloom, the Ram Truck CEO.
The brand new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE is getting the body colored front fascia, a tri-fold tonneau cover, side steps and several other visual tweaks which should be enough to put some distance between it and the other versions currently available on the market. Power to the pickup truck is being provided by a 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V6 engine, which is capable of producing a total output of 240 HP (179 kW) and 568 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque.
Ram didn’t announce any performance specifications on the new 1500 EcoDiesel HFE but the fuel consumption apparently stands at 21 / 29 / 24 mpg in city / highway / combined. The model will be offered for sale in the first quarter of this year. No pricing details on it have been announced either and this will most likely be made public close to its sale date.
