The 2016 Chevrolet Spark has made its public debut recently, during the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The redesigned version of the Chevrolet Spark has been recently introduced at the automotive event in the Big Apple. The small city cruiser is looking instantly recognizable as it is getting an evolutionary exterior. The model is coming with the new dual-port front grille, which is being flanked by the more traditional headlights. Further back, this is getting the sloping roofline, the new tailgate with the integrated spoiler, the prominent character lines and several other tweaks.
“Chevrolet today introduced the all-new 2016 Spark – a completely redesigned and more sophisticated execution of the brand’s global minicar. It offers greater efficiency and refinement, along with new, available safety and connectivity features”, said the carmaker in its official press release.
The 2016 Chevrolet Spark is also getting a new interior design which is adding the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with the 7-inch display, the higher quality fabrics for the more comfortable seats and the color-coded trim, amongst others. As far as the engine goes, Chevy says that the new Spark has a 1.4 liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine under its hood, which is capable of producing a total output of 98 HP (73 kW), connected to either a 5-speed manual, offered as standard, or to a CVT, which is available as an option, returning 40 mpg on the highway. The 2016 Chevrolet Spark will be produced in South Korea and it will be exported in more than 40 markets. Its U.S. launch will be made in the fourth quarter but no pricing details have been announced at this time.
