Lexus has officially pulled the wraps off the brand new 2016 RX at the automotive event in the Big Apple.
The new mid-size premium SUV has reached its fourth generation and it is getting most of its styling from the smaller NX. The model is coming with the spindle grille, the LED headlights, fog lights and daytime running lights, a slightly sloped roofline, the unique shape for the third side window, the sharper looking rear end with L-shaped taillights with the LED technology, the dual exhaust system and so on.
The cabin of the 2016 Lexus RX is getting the color head-up display at no extra cost, the 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, the new retractable panorama sunroof, the heated rear seats, the 60:40 power folding second row, the rear-seat entertainment system with the two 11.6-inch screens which have been fixed to the back for the front seat headrests and several other goodies.
The 2016 Lexus RX is also bringing the adaptive variable suspension and the F Sport versions will be getting the more aggressive body, the instrument cluster with the TFT Multi Information Display, sport steering wheel covered in perforated leather, the F SPORT emblem, paddle shifters, active stabilizer system, the AVS-enhanced Sport+ mode along with the Eco, Normal and Sport settings and others.
The brand new Lexus RX 350 is taking its power from a 3.5 liter V6 engine, with 300 HP (224 kW), connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The RX 450h has a 3.6 liter V6 with an electric motor, producing a total of 300 HP (224 kW). The new mid-size premium SUV will be offered for sale close to the end of this year. No pricing details are known at this time.
