A mysterious example of the Subaru BRZ has been photographed recently while being on display at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The Subaru BRZ has been around, along with its Toyota brother, the GT 86, for several years now so its presence at a major automotive event makes no sense unless we are talking on a revolutionary version so something is telling us that the one pictured below may be the anticipated BRZ STI. Keep in mind that such a version of the small sports car has been hinted quite a few times over the last few years so don’t act too surprised if the Japanese based automaker has decided to put it into production, finally.
The images posted below are showing us the Subaru BRZ with its appealing blue finished body, the new side vents, the wider fenders, the LED strip on the front bumper and larger multi-spoke alloy wheels. Let’s not forget the black finished side mirror caps and roof and that massive rear wing, which is giving it a more aggressive look. Under its hood, chances are we will be finding the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder boxer engine which may be turbocharged, if we are talking about the STI version, and it will be producing more than the 200 HP currently found on the regular model. Expect some ECU remapping too and probably a new exhaust system. More details on the model in question are limited at this time but you may want to check out this BRZ STI prototype here.
