The public debut of the new Jaguar XF generation has been made recently during the 2015 New York Auto Show.
After being officially unveiled over the web just a few weeks ago, the new generation of the Jaguar XF is now making its public debut, at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The mid-sized sedan is now 190 kg lighter than its predecessor and it is getting a stretched wheelbase by 51 mm and an overall length which is down by 7 mm. Jaguar says that 75 percent of it is made from aluminum and that the weight distribution stands at an almost perfect 50:50, which should translate into better handling.
The 2016 Jaguar XF is getting a generous interior design, with a 12.3-inch TFT which is reconfigurable, acting as the instrument cluster, 10.2-inch touch screen display on the infotainment system powered by the quad-core processor, the 17-speaker sound system, 825-watt signed by Meridian and much more. The engine lineup is made out of the 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel unit, which is available in two outputs, 163 HP (120 kW) & 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque and 180 HP (132 kW) & 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. The 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 engine, producing 300 HP (220 kW) & 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque is also offered, along with the supercharged 3.0L V6, rated at 380 HP (279 kW) & 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. All engines are connected to the 8-speed automatic transmission, except for the 2.0L Ingenium, which can be had with the 6-speed manual gearbox too.
