Nissan could be offering an electric version to the new generation of the Qashqai, which is expected to be unveiled sometimes next year.
The Japanese based automaker Nissan might be planning to offer a “green” version of the next Qashqai generation. The announcement hasn’t been made officially just yet but it was hinted by Guillaume Cartier, the European Sales and Marketing chief, who suggested that the electrified version of the Qashqai could actually happen. The Nissan Qashqai EV could use the updated technology from the NV 200 EV and from the Leaf. The model in question is believed to be unveiled next month and to go on sale in early 2014.
Besides the electric version, the next generation of the Nissan Qashqai is also expected to get the new 1.2 liter DiG-T engine, with its 115 HP in this case, which is also found on the facelifted Duster. The model in question will also get a 1.5 liter dCi unit under its hood, producing 110 HP, along with the popular 1.6 liter dCi, generating 130 HP. The new generation of the Nissan Qashqai will be based on the Hi-Cross Concept. More details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its launch.
