The brand new 2015 Subaru WRX has managed to leak in some new details and it seems that the model will pack a 2.0L turbocharged flat four engine under its hood.
The Japanese based automaker Subaru may have tried to keep the 2015 WRX into the shadows for the moment but things don’t always go as planned in this industry and some new details have leaked, revealing the fact that the model will be powered by a 2.0 liter flat four-cylinder engine. This will replace the old 2.5 liter turbocharged flat four, with its 265 HP at 6, 000 rpm and 244 lb-ft of torque, available at 4,400 rpm.
The new 2.0 liter flat four-cylinder turbocharged engine will develop a total output of 268 HP, at 5,600 rpm, and it will have a peak torque of 258 lb-ft, available at 4,800 rpm. These figures will be translated into an improved fuel economy. Power will be sent to the wheels through a five-speed manual or a 6-speed stick shift transmission. The 2015 Subaru WRX can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.4 seconds. The new WRX will only become available as a four-door sedan, as the hatchback version has been eliminated, at least for the United States. More details on the model will be announced next week, during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
