The Japanese based automaker Toyota is planning a revival for its iconic Supra model, and the new generation of the sports car will be coming as a hybrid with 400 HP.
According to the automotive journalists at motortrend.com, the new generation of the Toyota Supra will arrive in a hybrid form. The same source is also telling us that the sports car will borrow the looks from the FT-HS concept car which was officially presented back in 2007. The new generation of the Toyota Supra is expected to be offered in a hybrid powertrain where an electric motor and a 3.5 liter V6 engine will be developing a total output of 400 horsepower once the sports car will be officially presented in 2015.
Rumors are also saying that a more powerful version of the 2015 Toyota Supra will make its way onto the market in a 5.0 liter V8 configuration which is expected to develop around 500 horsepower. The new generation of the Toyota Supra will have some serious competition from the Nissan GT-R if the model hits the market without the hybrid configuration. But who knows, maybe Nissan will develop a hybrid version of the GT-R too, we’ll just have to wait and see.
