Volkswagen of America has recently announced that the 2015 e-Golf EV is the most efficient compact electric vehicle in the United States.
The 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf has been said to be the most efficient compact electric vehicle, currently offered in the United States, by the local division of the car manufacturer. The model in question may have a short range but that doesn’t make it less efficient. The vehicle’s EPA rating of 126 / 105 / 116 MPGe in city / highway / combined is making it quite interesting, despite the range of just 83 miles (133 km).
The Volkswagen e-Golf may not be a ride suitable for everyone, because of the low range at first, but this has been well equipped and it is coming with an infotainment system, GPS navigation system, a 5.8-inch display, a leather wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats and several other tweaks. Power to the model is being provided by a 24.2 kWh lithium ion battery, feeding the electric motor which has been rated at 115 HP (85 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration is made in 10.4 seconds. In the U.S., the e-Golf starts at 35,445 USD, without the government rebates and the 820 USD destination charge.
