Volkswagen has released new details, along with a large photo gallery, on the new generation of the Passat.
After being officially presented to the public during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, just a few days ago, the new generation of the Volkswagen Passat is highlighted once more. According to the car manufacturer, the new model will be getting a choice of five TSI engines, starting with the entry-level 1.4 TSI, with its 125 HP, along with the 2.0 liter TSI with 180 HP, 220 HP and 280 HP, and the GTE plug-in hybrid, with its 218 HP.
As far as the diesel engine lineup goes, this will include the 1.6 TDI, with 120 HP, the 2.0 TDI with 150 HP, 190 HP and 240 HP, along with a more frugal BlueMotion variant, to be offered later. Three equipment lines will become available on the new Passat generation, with the entry-level getting features such as the height adjustment for the front seats, front center armrest with storage compartment, Driver Alert, Keyless Go, Automatic Post-Collision Braking, tire pressure indicator, 6-inch touch screen, Hill Hold Assist, Auto Hold, air conditioning and so on. The Comfortline will add the City Emergency Braking and the Highline will come with the LED headlights and Alcantara/leather trim, amongst others. The cheapest version of the Passat will come in from 25,875 EUR for the Sedan and 25,950 EUR for the Estate.
