Volkswagen has launched the 2015 Volkswagen Polo across Australia, with its revised styling, new engines and lower pricing.
The 2015 Volkswagen Polo has a base starting price of just 15,990 AUD for the base 66 TSI Trendline entry level version, which is bringing it closer to Japanese models such as the Mazda2, the Toyota Yaris or the Honda Jazz. The new Polo is available only in two trim levels, the Trendline and the Comfortline, with the cheapest one coming with the 77 TSI engine under its hood and the other one with the 66 TDI unit.
The entry-level unit is good for 66 kW at 4,400 – 5,400 rpm and 160 Nm of torque, available at 1,400 rpm, while the 81 TSI has 81 kW available between 4,600 rpm and 5,600 rpm and 175 Nm of torque, available at 1,400 rpm. Both units are coming with the standard 5-speed transmission, but a seven-speed dual clutch DSG is also available, but as an option. Two option packages are also available for the 2015 Polo, the Driving Comfort, adding climate air control air-con, auto-dimming rearview mirror, city emergency braking, driver fatigue detection, auto headlights and wipers, rearview camera and tire pressure monitoring for 1,500 AUD and the Sport Package, coming in at the same 1,500 AUD, with its lowered suspension system, front fog lights, tire pressure monitoring, tinted rear glass and 17-inch alloy wheels.
