The first rendering with the 2015 Volkswagen Scirocco has made its way onto the web and it might provide us with a clue on what the updated version of the model will look like.
Volkswagen has no current plans of offering a new generation of the Scirocco anytime soon but in order to make the model more appealing to its future customers, and to align its front fascia to the newer models in the company’s lineup, the automaker will soon update the Scirocco. It is believed that the VW Scirocco facelift will make its way onto the market sometimes next year, with some minor updates applied to the exterior design and the cabin.
The current generation of the Scirocco is actually the third one and it’s currently assembled in Palmela, Portugal, coming with a three-door hatchback body style. The model in question is riding on the PQ35 platform of the Golf 5 and it has been unveiled back in 2008, during the Geneva Motor Show, going on sale in the same summer. The Scirocco has a 1.4L petrol, 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine lineup, which can be mated to either a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed DSG or a 7-speed DSG.
