New details and images on the next generation of the Volkswagen Passat have ended up on the web through a leaked presentation, ahead of the model’s debut scheduled for next month.
The 2015 Volkswagen Passat will be standing at 4,767 mm in length and it will be 85 kg (188 lbs) lighter than the current generation. The model in question will be getting the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, from the Audi TT, the head-up display, the system and park assist, the 360-degree camera and trailer assistant system, the full LED headlights, the Dynamic Light Assist system and some other tweaks.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Passat will be coming with two 1.4 liter TSI engines, which will be producing 125 HP (92 kW) and 150 HP (110 kW), with the latter being equipped with the ACT (Active Cylinder Technology). Customers will also get to order the 180 HP (132 kW) 1.8 liter TSI or the two 2.0 liter TSI units, with their 220 HP (162 kW) and 280 HP (206 kW). All the engines are meeting the Euro 6 emission standards and they will be joined in, later on, by a hybrid version. More details on the next generation of the Volkswagen Passat will be announced close to its official unveil.
