The first official images with the second generation of the Audi Q7 have surfaced online ahead of an imminent online reveal.
The 2016 Audi Q7 has an evolutionary design which is making it look instantly recognizable. The SUV has adopted sharper lines and its cabin is getting the digital customizable cluster, similar to the ones used on the new VW Passat and also in the Audi TT. The vehicle is riding on the MLB Evo platform, the same one which will be used on the new Porsche Cayenne and also on the Bentley SUV, and it is said to be 363 kg (800 lbs) lighter than the current version.
The Matrix LED headlights will be offered with the new model too, along with the 6- and 8-cylinder engine lineup. There will be a new range topping version, the SQ7, which will adopt the same 3.0 liter V6 TDI twin turbo from the RS5 TDI. An e-tron variant will be adopted too, coming with the 3.0 liter V6 diesel, backed up by an electric motor. The official debut of the new Q7 will be made next month, during the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit. More details on it will be announced soon.
