The upcoming generation of the Audi R8 has been rendered once again and it has absolutely nothing in common with its predecessor.
Ever since Lamborghini has introduced the brand new Huracan, last year, the successor of the Gallardo, the question on everyone’s lips was about the new R8, considering the fact that the German supercar is based on its Italian cousin. Now, almost a year since the “raging bull” has made its newest supercar public, we still don’t see any R8 successor, but this may change later on this year.
Rumor has it that the brand new Audi R8 will be introduced in either a couple of months, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, or in autumn, at the Frankfurt automotive event. Even so, the main idea is that we will most likely have the new supercar by the end of the year. The two images posted below are depicting on how it may look like once it will be officially unveiled, but considering the fact that they are simple renderings, don’t put your hopes in them too much.
The 2016 Audi R8 will be based, obviously, on the Lamborghini Huracan. It will be riding on the same platform and it is said to keep its V8 and V10 naturally aspirated engines. However, these will be upgraded, just like the one in the Italian supercar has been, and they will be connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, sending power to the Quattro all-wheel drive. More details on the subject are limited at this time.
