A new rendering with the replacement of the current Audi R8 has hit the web and it is giving us, and capsule perhaps, a first look into the upcoming supercar.
The development of a new generation of the Audi R8 has already started and the model in question is getting ready to be unveiled, sometimes next year. But until that will happen and the supercar will shine during a major international automotive event, the company is still keeping it a secret. This is where rendering artists come in handy because they can create virtual images of the model, based on the spy shots, on recent concept cars and on previous generations.
The current renderings, which have been signed by Marco Van Overbeeke, have been based on spy shots. These are showing the evolutionary design of the flagship model, with the new radiator grille and the LED headlights. Rumor has it that the new generation of the Audi R8 will be keeping its V8 and V10 naturally aspirated engines, which will be ranging between 450 HP (335 kW) and 570 Nm (425 lb-ft) of torque. Both units will be connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, powering the Quattro AWD. The new R8 will be unveiled sometimes next year.
