A hotter version of the new Audi A4 generation, the S4, is believed to be going to the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Audi is moving fast with the new generation of the A4 and after unveiling it a few weeks back, in both sedan and estate body styles, time has come to talk about a new range-topping version, the S4. The model in question will be the top of the line variant of the car until the real RS4 will become available, sometimes next year according to recent reports, and it seems that the model will be unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be opening its gates this September.
The announcement hasn’t been made official at this point but according to autozeitung.de, the model will be unveiled at the German automotive event. Rumor has it that under its hood we will be finding a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine, which will be capable of producing a total of 350 HP (257 kW), and it is said to be offered in both body styles, sedan and estate. Since it will shed about 100 kg from its weight, the car is expected to be significantly faster than the previous generation of the S4, which needed about 5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph). Top speed will most likely be electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Additional details on the new Audi S4 generation are limited at this time and will probably be announced at the automotive event this fall.
