On the second day of the New Delhi Auto Expo 2016, the Italian automaker presented no less than three models to the Indian public: the Punto Pure, Punto Urban Cross Concept and Linea 125s.

Let’s start from the back – the carmaker has recently started delivering to European showrooms the new Aegea/Tipo sedan but India is not yet on the update list and thus has to contend with the older Linea. But the model at least features a new special version, the Linea 125s, which brings a sportier design along with a power that matches the moniker. The Linea 125s has under the hood the well-known 1.4-liter T-Jet engine churning out in this iteration 125 PS and 210 Nm of torque and according to Fiat the Linea is now the most powerful sedan in its segment – in India, of course. The cosmetic revisions include a bigger grille with a chrome wrap and black mesh while the lower part of the front comes borrowed from the facelifted Punto. Equipment amenities include ABS and EBD, rain sensing wipers, automatic dual projector headlamps, rear parking sensors, electric mirrors, navigation and ambient lighting.

The Punto Pure is nothing to talk about so we’re just going to redirect your attention to the Fiat Punto Avventura Urban Cross concept – which previews the production version that will reach dealerships later this year. The model is based off the older Avventura that has been offered in India since 2014 and comes packing the market’s Abarth engine. This one is the same 1.4-liter T-Jet turbo but this time delivering 140 PS and 210 Nm of torque. It comes with a hot hatch meets raised suspension crossover appearance so it could fit the definition of an Indian sports SUV.
