Maruti Suzuki, the local Indian unit of the Japanese automaker, has officially announced the introduction of the new Vitara Brezza during the New Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
The Vitara Brezza has been billed by the company as the one design that will deliver “immense style and glamour to India’s SUV landscape,” with the small SUV adopting a dynamic front end with chrome grille and projector beam headlights that have integrated LED daytime running lights. Moving along, we also notice the rugged stance thanks to the plastic body cladding, the ‘floating roof,’ and tailgate-mounted spoiler. The automaker has not been very keen on delivering all the specifications, and only said the model will feature as standard amenities the two-tone exterior, 16-inch alloy wheels as well as three “theme” based option packages – Glamour, Urban, and Sporty – which should go some way towards enhancing personalization levels.
The cabin makes use of a three-spoke steering wheel, some metallic trim, as well as a Smartplay infotainment system. Under the hood resides a 1.3-liter 200 DDiS diesel engine delivering 88 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With more details to be announced closer to the model’s dealership launch, Maruti Suzuki also said on the line the Vitara Brezza will adopt a second powertrain choice, a petrol engine.
