The first images depicting the true design of the new BMW X1 generation have recently hit the web and they are showing us how the model will look like when the camouflage is dropped.
The new generation of the BMW X1 is a highly anticipated vehicle especially because this will be completely new, compared to the standard one, as this will go on with its times and evolve. The popular crossover will be coming with a larger kidney grille, with similar headlights to the recently introduced 1-Series facelift, a new front bumper, some new taillights in the rear end, a new lower part of the rear bumper and several other tweaks which are making it instantly recognizable as a brand new model.
The 2016 BMW X1 is said to be based on the UKL platform, which is currently shared with the 2-Series Active Tourer and the MINI and this means that the crossover will be coming with front-wheel drive as standard, but for some extra money, customers will be able to order the more expensive xDrive all-wheel drive versions of it. As far as the engine lineup goes, the 2016 BMW X1 is expected to pack the new 1.5 liter 3-cylinder petrol burner under its hood, along with the 2.0 liter four-cylinder gasoline and diesel units. The new generation of the BMW X1 should be officially unveiled later on this year, probably during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. More details on it are limited for the moment.
