The new generation of the BMW X1 has been placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a massive photo gallery, which has been released by the carmaker.
After being officially unveiled just a few months back, the 2016 BMW X1 is being highlighted today with the Bavarian based automaker releasing a massive photo gallery with it. The premium compact crossover, which is taking aim at the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Audi Q3, is now 36 mm shorter than its predecessor, standing in at 4,439 mm in length, 21 mm wider at 1,821 mm in width and 53 mm taller, at 1,598 mm in height. The vehicle is coming with more knee room in the rear, with a raised seating position and 85 liters of space more in the trunk, to 505 liters.
The 2016 BMW X1 has received a completely new look, compared to the previous version, and this is now making it more similar to its larger brothers, the X3 and the X5. The model in question has also received a new platform, a new interior design and some new technologies. The vehicle is coming with the 6.5-inch display on the freestanding iDrive infotainment system, with an optional head-up display, with Alcantara / cloth sport seats, with Aluminum Hexagon trim and so on. The engine lineup includes the 2.0 liter petrol burner, with 192 HP and 280 Nm of torque, along with the 2.0 liter producing 231 HP and 350 Nm of torque. Diesel burners include the 2.0 liter with either 150 HP, 190 HP and 231 HP. North America will only get the xDrive28i, with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 228 HP.
