The 2016 Cadillac ELR has been officially unveiled by the North American based automaker and it will kick off at 58, 495 USD, after the U.S. federal tax credits will apply.
Cadillac has officially pulled the wraps off the 2016 ELR. The vehicle is coming with a makeover for the new model year, compared to the previous version, and some of the features found on it include the updated HiPer Strut front suspension, the stiffer bushings, increased front spring rates and stiffer rear axle, the front bumper rebound spring, the 8-inch configurable instrument and driver information displays in the cabin, the three USB ports, the semi-aniline full leather seating, sueded microfiber headliner, Power-assisted covered storage / cup holder in the center console and so on.
The 2016 Cadillac ELR is also getting a revised front grille, front four-piston Brembo brake calipers, 20-inch sport wheels covering them with summer-only performance tires, a sport steering wheel, electric power steering system and more. The lithium ion battery has increased from 16.5 kWh to 17.1 kWh, the electric range stands at 63 km (39 miles) and the total range is 530 km (330 miles). The battery can be recharged from a 240V source in about 5 hours. The total output stands at 233 HP (174 kW) and 506 Nm (373 lb-ft) of torque, allowing it to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.4s and a top speed of 106 mph (170 km/h).
