Chevrolet has announced expanding the lineup for the 2016 Colorado, by adding the Midnight Edition and the Z71 Trail Boss.
The same treatment from the Silverado Midnight Edition has been applied by the carmaker to the Colorado. This is now distinguishable thanks to its dark theme, the spray-on bedliner and soft tonneau cover, 18-inch alloy wheels finished in black and the black sill plates with the company’s logo on them. The LT model with extended and crew bodies can be ordered, in two-wheel and four-wheel drive, equipped with the 2.5 liter and the 3.6 liter engines, along with the new 2.8 liter Duramax, rated at 181 HP and 369 Nm of torque.
“These are aggressive editions of one of the country’s hottest-selling truck, demonstrating the personalization that’s possible with Chevrolet accessories, whether it’s for the street, trail or both,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “As the Colorado continues to win over new customers, the new Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss give them more choices and build on segment-leading capabilities and efficiency.”
The Colorado Z71 Trail Boss is bringing the 17-inch black alloy wheels with 265/65 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec all-terrain tires, the sport bar with LED lighting, tubular assist steps, black bowtie grille emblem, bold fender flares, all-weather floor mats and so on. This version can also be had in the crew and extended bodies, with the same two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive layout. The same engine lineup, as the one in the Colorado Midnight Edition, is also available. Both vehicles will become available for order this fall. No pricing details are known at this point.
