The North American International Auto Show is now in full swing and the novelties are pouring in – the Japanese luxury automaker presented next to the all new Q60 Coupe the facelifted QX60 crossover.
This is the statement of a mid cycle refresh, as Infiniti’s midsize luxury crossover is coming for the 2016 model year with subtle tweaks – a modified front fascia with an upgraded design for the radiator grille. We also saw a different design treatment for the graphics of the bi-xenon headlights which also come complete with the LED daytime running lights, while a reworked bumper houses a set of LED fog lights. There’s also more chrome trim, a shark fin antenna and some utterly subtle tweaks operated on the other parts of the body to sum up the exterior revisions. The seven seater has had the LNVH levels lowered, the three-zone automatic climate control system updated and there are more USB charging ports while safety has been enhanced through the use of Forward Collision Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, and Backup Collision Intervention.
Motivation is provided by a 3.5-liter V6 churning out 265 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque and the 2016 QX60 can also be had with a hybrid powertrain that employs a supercharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 250 hp and 243 lb-ft. Standard is the FWD system, but there’s also an optional all-wheel drive and the model also comes with tweaked power steering for better handling.
