Ford has launched the online configurator for the brand new Focus RS.
If you are a hot hatch fan or a petrol head, than you are familiar with the new generation of the Ford Focus RS and if you happen to live in the United States too, than this article is definitely aimed towards you, as the blue oval has launched the online configurator for the five-door compact performance model. According to the car manufacturer, the 2016 Ford Focus RS will have an MSRP of 35,730 USD and for the money you won’t be getting a lot of extra goodies and you will actually end up paying more than 40,000 USD for an average equipped version.
Unlike its predecessor, which was front-wheel drive only, the new Ford Focus RS is coming with an all-wheel drive system which is capable of sending up to 70 percent of the power to the rear wheels. It also has a Drift mode and it is making use of a four-cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine, the same one used on the new Mustang generation. On the hot hatch, the unit will be able to send up to 345 HP to the wheels, through a 6-speed manual transmission. It will need approximately 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and this will put it dangerously close to the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. The first units of the hot hatch are expected to be seen on the street by the end of this year. You can configure your very own 2016 Ford Focus RS here.
