The high-performance Ford Focus RS is getting ready to hit the market as the model in question has been recently spied on the Old Continent.
Ford is currently testing out the brand new Focus RS, the top of the line version which is expected by a lot of car enthusiasts. The model in question is just a test mule, for the moment, but it has been wrapped in minimum camouflage and we can see its sporty rear end in the two images posted below. The hot hatch has been caught on camera by our spy photographers on the German Autobahn and it’s said to be months away from an official unveil.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS is expected to come with a 2.3 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which is also used on the new generation of the Mustang. The hot hatch will, however, produce more than the 309 HP (227 kW) and 407 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque of the unit found on the muscle car and this may develop anywhere from 330 HP to 350 HP. Power will be sent to the front-wheel drive through an electronic differential. The new Ford Focus RS should be launched in 2016 if everything goes as planned and it should cost 33,000 euros.
