Honda will be officially pulling the wraps off the new generation of the Pilot, next month, during the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, in a world premiere.
The Japanese based automaker Honda has chosen the 2015th edition of the Chicago Auto Show in order to pull the wraps off the 2016 Pilot. The model in question is going to be in its third generation and it is expected to be a completely new vehicle, with a more attractive exterior design and a capability of seating up to 8 people, which should make it popular with its fans.
“Honda continues to fortify its light-truck lineup in 2015, this time turning our eye to the fast-growing family SUV segment. The new Pilot will raise the bar in a segment it helped to create, with more innovation, style, premium features and family utility than ever before”, said the Honda Division senior vice president and general manager, Jeff Conrad.
The 2016 Honda Pilot should be getting a completely new design but don’t expect anything drastic because its overall looks will seem evolutionary. The model should also get some new technologies and higher quality materials in the cabin too, along with a lot of extra safety items. As far as the engine lineup goes, chances are we will find the 3.5 liter V6 direct injected unit under its hood, which should be producing a total of 310 HP (231 kW). More details on the 2016 Honda Pilot are limited at this time and will be announced in Chicago, on the 12th of February.
