Hyundai has pulled the wraps off the 2016 Genesis, which is bringing a series of updates for the new model year.
The 2016 Hyundai Genesis is being placed into the spotlights once more, this time with the company performing a series of updates and releasing the first images and details with it. According to the car manufacturer, the model is bringing the HID headlights, the LED daytime running lights, the new optional LED fog lamps, available on the entry-level Genesis 3.8 and several other goodies.
Hyundai says that the 3.8L V6 engine is offering more power than similarly equipped versions of the competition and it is coming with 311 HP at 6,000 rpm and the D-CVVT or Dual Continuously Variable Timing, steel timing chain, iridium tipped spark plugs, all-aluminum block and heads and so on. This is connected to the same 8-speed automatic transmission as the Genesis 5.0 which is adding a 5.0 liter V8 engine under its hood, capable of putting down a total of 420 HP at 6,000 rpm. And 383 lb-ft of torque available at 5,000 rpm.
The 2016 Hyundai Genesis will become available for order starting from 38,750 USD, for the entry-level Genesis 3.8 RWD (rear-wheel drive), while for the Genesis 3.8 AWD (all-wheel drive), customers will have to pay 41,250 USD. The Genesis 5.0 RWD will start from 52,850 USD. The “new” Hyundai Genesis will go on sale across the nation starting with November. More details on it will be announced then.
