The 2016 Lexus ES will be officially presented to the public during the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, in a premiere, on the 20th of April.
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has chosen the 2015th edition of the Shanghai Auto Show in order to pull the wraps off the 2016 ES. The model in question is actually a facelift of the mid-size luxury sedan and it is going to get the updated headlights with black graphics, the LED daytime running lights, the revised spindle grille, the sharper design for the front bumper, the more angular fog lights and several other tweaks which will help it differentiate from the current model.
The current generation of the Lexus ES, which is its sixth one, has been unveiled at the New York Auto Show, back in 2012. The model in question is being put together in Japan, at the Fukuoka plant, and in the United States, at the Georgetown facility. The model has been designed by Pansoo Kwon and Yuji Fujiwara and it is coming with a front-engine and front-wheel drive layout, riding on the Toyota K platform. The ES stands at 4,895 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height, with a 2,820 mm long wheelbase. The engine lineup includes the 2.5 liter gasoline, the 2.5 liter gasoline hybrid and the 3.5 liter gasoline, connected to a 6-speed automatic or a CVT. The facelifted version of the model remains into the shadows at this time and will be detailed at the upcoming Chinese automotive event.
