The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Club will be officially presented to the public during the 2015 New York Auto Show, on the 1st of April.
Mazda hasn’t even launched the MX-5 Miata’s new generation into the showrooms just yet but that isn’t stopping the company from expanding the lineup with a whole new version. This is called the MX-5 Club and it will be making its public debut next week, during the 2015 New York Auto Show. Specs on the model haven’t been released at this time but the carmaker says that this is the “more aggressive” iteration of the new model. Chances are this will shed some weight from the standard model and it will probably get some exterior tweaks which should help it stand out from the regular lineup.
For more details on the new Mazda MX-5 Club we will have to wait for the model to be officially presented to the public in the Big Apple, next week. As a small reminder, the new generation of the roadster has recently entered production, in Japan, at the Hiroshima facility, after it debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. This is the fourth generation of the model and it stands at 3,915 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,235 mm in height, weighing in just 998 kg. It is 105 mm shorter, 10 mm wider and 20 mm lower than its predecessor, coming with a 1.5L turbo engine with 129 HP in the base version while the U.S. and Canada will get the 155 HP 2.0L unit. Transmission options will include the manual and the automatic, both with six gears.
