The new generation of the Mazda MX-5 is getting ready to hit Australian showrooms this August.
If you happen to live in Australia and you are on the lookout of a brand new roadster than the 2016 Mazda MX-5 is definitely what the doctor has ordered, especially since the model in question is just a few months away from reaching showrooms across the country. According to the car manufacturer , the 2016 Mazda MX-5 will be priced from 31, 990 AUD, plus-on road costs, which basically means that it will be more than 15,000 AUD cheaper compared to its predecessor. This is also 2,000 AUD more expensive than the original car which was launched in the Pacific country 26 years ago.
The new generation of the Mazda MX-5 has a total weight of just 1,009 kg and this is making it 91 kg lighter than the one it is replacing and 59 kg heavier than the original roadster. The car manufacturer will be offering the model with the 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, connected to a 6-speed manual transmission and rated at 96 kW and 150 Nm of torque, in the entry-level variant. The 6-speed automatic transmission will be adding 2,000 AUD to the price of the car. The engine will be joined by the 2.0 liter four-cylinder with its 116 kW and 200 Nm of torque. Mazda Australia has received more than 16,000 registration of interested for the new MX-5 generation. More details on the roadster will be announced close to its arrival.
