Mazda has officially announced the starting price of one of the best roadsters out there, the MX-5, in its new generation, in the United States.
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 is getting ready to become available in the United States as everyone’s favorite new roadster will be undercutting the Toyota GT86 for several thousands. The new generation of the MX-5 will go on sale over-seas starting from this summer and it will be introduced in the Sport, Club and Grand Touring versions, with the cheapest one become available for order from 24,950 USD.
Detailed specifications on it are being kept a secret for the moment but the entry-level variant, the Sport, is said to be equipped with features such as the Bluetooth connectivity, the USB input, the leather wrapped gear knob, the power door locks, the LED headlights and several other tweaks to help it become more attractive to its future owners.
As you probably already know by now, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 has a total weight of 1,057 kg (2,332 lbs) and this is making it approximately 68 kg (150 lbs) lighter than its predecessor. In the United States, the popular roadster will be taking its power exclusively from the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV engine, which is capable of producing a total output of 155 HP (115 kW) and it has a peak torque of 200 Nm (148 lb-ft). Full pricing details on the new Mazda MX-5 generation will be announced once the model will be ready to reach dealerships, this summer.
