The facelifted version of the range-topping A-Class, the A45 AMG, has been officially unveiled by the German based automaker.
Following the online debut of its regular brother, the 2016 A-Class, the “new” range-topping variant, the A45 AMG, has been officially unveiled by the car manufacturer. The model in question is nothing more than a simple facelift which is coming with the slightly updates made to the cabin and the modified front and rear bumpers, lighting units and that’s about all, so if you are not a fan of this particular hot hatch, chances are you won’t be able to tell the differences between it and its predecessor.
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is now more powerful than the Audi RS3 Sportback, despite having a cylinder less. Under its hood, we can find the same 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit, which has been now tweaked to produce a total of 381 HP (280 kW) and 475 Nm (351 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to these figures, the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration time has been cut by 0.4 seconds to a total of 4.2 seconds. The average fuel consumption stands at 6.9L / 100km and the CO2 emissions stop at 162 g/km.
The new hot hatch signed by the 3-pointed star has received the DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes in which the driver can choose between the Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual modes, along with the AMG RIDE CONTROL sport suspension system, the new mechanical front axle locking differential, an updated 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and several other goodies. At this time, we have no clue on what the A45 AMG S will get more, besides the even more powerful engine.
