The first teaser image with the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has been released recently ahead of the model’s official premiere which will take place on the 1st of August.
The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi is planning to introduce the 2016 Pajero Sport shortly but before this will happen, the company has started the teasing game. The first official image with the SUV is showing a black finished model in a black background and we can notice what seems to be an updated front fascia with slender headlights and incorporated LED daytime running lights, smooth lines across its body and several other tweaks which will have the job of putting enough distance between it and the current model.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, also known as the Challenger or the Montero Sport, will get a sloping roofline, some distinctive greenhouse and unique taillights, according to some leaked patent images. The model will also get a bold front fascia with a slender grille. Rumor has it that this will ride on the same platform as the L200 / Triton and it should get the same engine lineup as the pickup truck, but this will be made depending on the market on which it is aimed for. The 2.5 liter turbo diesel with 128 HP and 240 Nm of torque is expected to be added, along with a more powerful version, with 178 HP and 400 Nm of torque. The 2.4 liter gasoline engine with 128 HP and 194 Nm will also be introduced, along with a new 2.4 liter turbo diesel in two outputs, with 154 HP & 380 Nm of torque and with 181 HP & 430 Nm. The official premiere of the SUV will be made on August 1, at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show, in Thailand.
