The US spec of the 2016 Kia K900 has received a host of updates for the new model year, among them a new standard V6 engine and an enhanced UVO infotainment system.
Aside from the standard new 311 hp 3.8-liter V6 engine, which was actually introduced late last year, the main novelty for the 2016 Kia K900 now is the company’s flagship upgraded infotainment system with support for “UVO Luxury Services.” This feature-rich infotainment system is exclusive to the top of the line model and comes with LTE support, the software has access to Google-powered local search, as well as remote vehicle command, and brings even an appointment system for dealership visits.
The owner needs to download the UVO Luxury Services app from Google Play or iTunes and will gain access to many functions: remote start/stop, pre-condition of the interior cabin temperature, unlock/lock with added support for curfew and speed alerts, Geofence settings, and a variety of maintenance and infotainment functions. The UVO Luxury Services will be free of charge for the first five years of ownership.
The 2016 model year also adds new 18-inch wheels for the V6 version, which packs 311 bhp (231 kW) and 293 lb-ft (396 Nm) of torque. The engine enables a fuel rating of 17 mpg city / 26 mpg highway / 20 mpg combined thanks to the RWD arrangement and eight-speed automatic transmission.
