The new generation of the Opel Astra is coming back in more images which are now showing it in the upcoming Sports Tourer version.
Before rushing over to your nearest dealership and placing an order for it, you should know that this is nothing more than a simple rendering which is showing us how the future Opel Astra Sports Tourer may look like, considering the fact that the car manufacturer has only unveiled it in its hatchback body style, at the time. Chances are a Sports Tourer version of the new Astra K will be hitting the market next year, along with the four-door sedan and, let’s not forget, the 3-door GTC.
Meanwhile, the German based automaker will be offering it as a 5-door hatchback but this isn’t available for order just yet and it will become right after its public debut, during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September. The new generation of the compact car has received a completely new design and it is coming with the IntelliLux LED matrix headlights, being 5 cm shorter in length and riding on a 2 cm shorter wheelbase but offering 35 mm extra legroom in the rear. The engine lineup in the new Astra K includes the 1.0 liter Ecotec with 3 cylinders, producing 105 HP (77 kW). The 1.4 liter Ecotec is also available, with its 145 HP (107 kW) an 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque. The 1.6L CDTI diesel unit is coming too, with 95 HP (70 kW).
