The very first images with the upcoming Porsche Panamera generation have recently hit the web as renderings and they might just offer us a first glimpse into the future model.
The new Porsche Panamera generation is expected to wear the 2016 model year in its name, which means that the model will probably hit the market sometimes in 2015. The upcoming Porsche Panamera will be heavily influenced by the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept and the model’s front fascia will get an aggressive design, while the rear end will be influenced by the 911 sports car. The future Porsche Panamera is also rumored to ride on the MSB platform, which will underpin new Bentley models and possible some Lamborghini vehicles and this should allow the model to drop approximately 200 lbs (91 kg) from its weight.
As a quick reminder, the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept has been officially presented to the public back in September, 2012, during the Paris Motor Show. The model is powered by a 3.0 liter supercharged engine and a 9.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The petrol burner is producing 333 HP (245 kW) and the electric motor is generating 95 HP (70 kW). The total output stands at 416 HP (306 kW), which is enough to allow the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than six seconds. Fuel consumption stands at 3.5 liters / 100 km (67.2 mpg US / 80.7 mpg UK) and CO2 emission stop at 82 g/km.
