Ram has officially pulled the wraps off the 2016 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks.
The 2016 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 have been officially unveiled and even if they may be looking basically identical to the previous model year, the car manufacturer says that they have received an interesting number of updates which will be keeping them ahead of its main rivals from General Motors and from Ford.
“Ram maintains leadership in all three pickup segments offering best-in-class fuel efficiency, best-in-class towing, best-in-class power and best-in-class payload,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO — Ram Truck Brand, FCA US. “Ram continues to break records in the most important consumer-driven titles of the pickup truck market and we’re not slowing down.”
The car manufacturer says that there is now a new Laramie Limited version which is adding the prominent RAM lettering on the tailgate, a modified grille, a tambour wood sliding door, a cell phone and tablet holder on the new center console, the Black Argento wood trim and black leather seats with accent stitching. The Ram 3500 has received a stronger differential case and the 16 bolt rear axle ring gear on vehicles with the 11.8-inch axle and these updates are allowing it to tow a whopping 14,156.6 kg (31,210 lbs). The 6.7 liter Cummings 6-cylinder engine has been updated and it is now capable of putting down 385 HP (287 kW) and 1,218 Nm (900 lb-ft) of torque. The updated Ram 2500 and 3500 will be offered for sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
