Scion has officially pulled the wraps off the 2016 FR-S model year as the appealing budget sports car will be arriving in dealerships this summer.
The 2016 Scion FR-S has received some tiny tweaks as the model in question has been officially unveiled by the car manufacturer. According to the company, the updated FR-S has received two new exterior colors, the Oceanic and the Ablaze, and it is coming with an upgraded interior design, adding the infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen display, a rearview camera and some bright silver accents throughout the cabin.
“Scion’s FR-S performance sports coupe is getting its style on for the 2016 model year. With interior improvements, two new colors, a new standard audio system and a rear-view back up camera, the next FR-S also sports a new price”, says the car manufacturer in its official press release.
Prices for the 2016 Scion FR-S start from 25,305 USD for the manual version and for the 6-speed sequential automatic transmission with paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology, the costs raise up to 26,405 USD. The pricing excludes the handling, processing and destination charges worth 770 USD. The Scion FR-S is basically a rebadged version of the Toyota GT 86 as the model has been in production since 2012. This is still carrying the front-engine and rear-wheel drive layout and it has the same 2.0 liter boxer under its hood, produced by Subaru and also used on the BRZ, in the same specifics.
